8th grade Biology students are heating things up! Today, we safely burned food items to calculate their Calorie content. This wasn’t just a fiery demonstration; it was a deep dive into food energy! Students connected their calorie counts directly to macromolecules and the process of cellular respiration. They learned that the energy released in the lab is the same chemical energy our bodies use to make ATP!
